In response to my post above a friend of my wrote to me: “Soon you'll be spending more time there than the listening room :-)”. This is a very interesting concept and I would like to share my thoughts about it. A listening room and a video room are d...
One area where standards have failed is in HDTV. I have no sympathy for the morons who decided to have 2 standards, 720p and 1080i. It is clear they prostrated themselves to corporate bribery to allow such to be called ...
It is stupid, of course, but still we persist in comparing "live" and "reproduced" sound. But NO ONE EVER confuses video with life…
I disagree with this statement. I would argue that it “in a way” reversed. I said “in ...

Sorry for this long rant but I feel a rebuttal is necessary.1. Back in the 90's you had 480 I video and 16/44 or dolby 2.1 analog audio. Then the sound was crap as was the video so you could get away with a crappy setup. Now we have 1080P video and 2...

I think you will only be able to decide about this after listening to some operas or other video-audio through the big system. The analog output of the video player may be good enough for the purpose, or it may sound terrible through the Milqs/Macon...

Here is a good video foe your boring Friday. In most case it is a pure BS but a nicely professionally made BS. The comparing the Kharma making with the making of musical instruments is a cheesy as the word cheesy it could be? There are many very slip...

Yes, I absolutely loved the ending of the video - such a tease... I would guess that it's exactly what they wanted. Having viewed it again, Romy, I see what you mean about the larger horns' profile - looks like very truncated expo to me now... I was ...

The idea of high quality delay makes me wonder if the delay effectively increases the virtual length of the room - allowing longer wavelengths before the room Schroeder frequency is reached. This would be a "softer" bass without the room compression....

Sure the video imaging might be beneficial or devastating. Sometimes a great camera work can and good acting can embrace performances the push them way out there and sometime video can wreck even the best play. Sometimes, when I come across video tha...
