I have also a fondness for this design which may well suit your room with the line sunk in your basement. It is interesting that this design makes use of two woofers in push-pull configuration as well as making use of a transmission line. The only tr...

This subject is interesting but unfortunately there are more options then time in life to experiment with all of them. The idea to use fatter cable is right atop of surface. It is not about current caring but the lower impedance of the cable. Remembe...

I think you should investigate a transmission line subterranean woofer system. One tuned for 8 Hz and turned off at 28 Hz. That way you could use your beloved lite weight drivers where they are most useful and a super woofer with XBL magnet structure...

Hi Roberts, Romy and others,Before this thread vanishes in undeserved obscurity, I have a question or two for you. I understand that the issue is a complex one and should be addressed with more care and paying attention to detail than I am do...

Well, what I have learned after a few experiments and some education is that Bluetooth, regardless quality of implementation is garbage, FM transmission is fine but to do it at more or less acceptable level it will be costly. So, I decided to take ad...

Paul, in my view the air-caps as an ultimate cap, the ultimate by own intrinsic topology. It is particularly the case for the 834P- like application as in there the cap is not biased by high voltage DC and gets constantly re-polarized. You see the pr...
A cap in put AC has no biased dielectric and as a result all dielectrics are vibrating (they are dielectrics but they are partially chargeable) and smear the termination of transmission line.
Hm...If taken outside...
Number one, that I'd like to run by you guys due to it's simpler nature and closer to reality execution is the idea I have been thinking about. No first hand experience with any of this.Say we use something like altec 1505b mu...

Unlike transmission line reflections which are a REAL effects, torsion gravity has beena nice theoretical concept, existing on paper, but not a proven reality, mind you. This is a huge difference and I guess you are one of those rare people who shoul...

Antonio,Works just fine with ported, unported or open baffle. The process works on the boundary layer of the cone. This is the very thin area between cone material and air. The actual mechanism just disallows energy trapped in this zone from reflecti...

Good luck getting midrange from F120A for non annoying monitors. Seems reasonable to expect, many people have been very happy with these drivers... I haven't tried this specific driver, but have spent some time trying to get a simila...

It is my understanding that the only reason to make a ribbon bigger is to get it to go lower in frequency. I don't know how Arum Cantus configures their G1, and I have not heard it so I cannot say if it is their "best" pure HF driver rather tha...

Today a brilliant and insultingly simple idea come to me. I was thinking about the way jointing my sections. The horn probably will be made by 2-3 sections, plus the transition please. So, the section jointing flanges are usually made. I probably go ...

The other day I was listening to a friend´s system with nice Avalon speakers, only one 10" seemed to be enough, of course it seemed we were playing house when listening to music, everything was small and very nice and pretty...Now when matc...

Thanks for your quick reply. I have been to assistance audio`s website, however was unable to find such model, but is possible they just disassembled the tweeter or whatever. This is really interesting news, about their violin reproduction, me too wou...

You have identified the tricky parts -the transistion between the front and back horn as well as the throat of the front tractrix horn. A one to one throat with the front horn works best with my coaxials and a short 1.25" straight 'ring' ...

I think it was Wagner who first incorporated in his composition the concept of masking. He felt that during loud sounds people are losing ability to recognize the instrumental complexity. Later on during the stupid mp3 times or digital compression, o...

Novigera, let's ignore any issues of sound quality first. A horn loads its drivers and increases efficiency only at certain frequencies. The frequencies that are more efficient are based on length, taper and size of the mouth. That means that it does...
