To anyone contemplating the use of Teflon sockets as pictured and described by me in the post at this link:http://www.goodsoundclub.com/Forums/ShowPost.aspx?PageIndex=10&postID=15499#15499DON'T DO IT.These sockets cannot deal with the heat genera...

Here's a start on teflon sockets I had bookmarked for some reason:

This all sounds perfectly sensible and plausible, but other teflon sockets have a different mechanism of gripping the pins that may not be so affected, e.g. the ones I am using, here:

[quote user="decoud"]it is worth reiterating in this thread -- and perhaps Romy should update his advice in the relevant section -- that exotic japanese teflon sockets such as the one made by yamamoto soundcraft are no good for the 6c33c, whether bec...

If Lamm had actually used the larger 950s in my unit I would probably be less curious about it, but for mine he used 10uF 935 couplers with small 950s for bypass (... I assume they are bypass caps...). Hard to imagine 10 uF couplers would not have a ...

What's the deal with all these expensive, small value caps? Are people paying this kind of money to bypass their cheaper couplers, or what?http://174.132.244.231/copper-teflon-capacitors.phpThis spiel contains a lot more "technical information" than...

Didn't I just double check to see that those I referred to use high-tech elastomer isolators and some sort of poly material that is maybe as soft as Teflon but does not cold-form like Teflon annoyingly does?Coulda sworn...Unless you just lo...

[quote user="Paul S"]So, does anyone know anything about "good" sockets for the ML-2s? I forget when and where I saw some sort of boutique Teflon jobbies that are pretty darned expensive. Maybe DIY Hi-Fi, in Hong Kong? Also, although Teflon is a ...

It seems like lots of folks use parts to try to tune/voice their systems, and the V-Caps are just another option, IMO. No matter what people think of new parts as they break them in, they will eventually tire of the overall sound from...

Romy's recent post on the trials of 12-channel DSET hi-fi made me feel a little better, but his point about maintaining performance is well taken, none the less. One simply must have an aural reference and some rigorous methods for keeping things son...
