My 20-50hz TH is not very sensitive. HornResp shows 95db for Ang = 2.0 x Pi.So, it needs power. My 18W GM-70 SET can drive them without clipping, but I prefer to keep amp working at 10% of max power to keep distortions as low as possible, so for TH I...

Alex,I tend to aim for Q's around 0.5-0.6 for my sealed boxes, but thats only because I prefer my listening in smaller nearfield rooms. If you have a much larger room, you *might* be able to get away with something closer to 1.the 18W works fin...
I've heard so much about these legendary SET mono-blocks; but as I understand it, it's VERY important to match them up with proper (efficient) speakers.Anyway, I'd welcome some feedback on matching these amps with Lamhorn 1.8's +...

....and particularly for us - the software freaks, for whom the word “Dim” has an "added value"…. Sure I will keep informing how it goes…
The Scan-Speak’s SD-1 “smartly overhang” motors are very interesting and if your 18W is made around the S...
Yes, it is built according to the schematic, but by someone else, from whom I have only just received it. The opt is custom-made nanocrystalline amorphous core, gapped at 300mA and running 200V/240mA.
Very good. The 200V/...
On dynamic, the 6C33C tube showed its ability to go deep in the bass on Ray Brown trio recording of Soular Energy which is excellent for a 15W SE , the 845 amp can do better, but not by much, but probably because of its 25W ou...

Paul,
I do not have any reasons to say anything about bias regarding any other tubes beside the 6C33C.
The point that I was trying to make the most of the people out there do not have a proper load for this CE amplifiers. They feel that when thier...

When I read raves from low powered amps with such speaker designs I ask myself, is it product placement or is there a different kind of listening among Americans, Japanese, Europeans...?
I made a visit to an audiophile with Lamm LL1, ML3 and Wilson ...

...we'll have to compromise somewhere. So, since it isn't the spkr's range, then it must be the amplifier. Forget the ML's 18W. We must have ~38-40, so let's say our machine is using a 45 / 211 / 610 /g70 type of tube. Also I don't suggest we conclude...

I was rushing when I made the last post. Wanted to share a little more about my thought process and how I arrived at doing another large-scale masochistic audio project. Making a bass horn is a huge risk - the results can vary from exceeding expect...

I understand all disadvantages going digital.
I strongly believe that minimal influence to the signal is the most important aspect.
And influences in digital domain are usually terrible.
But I'm not sure what other options available....

Hi,
This subject of digital crossovers became quite popular during last few years and many audio-people give up and go for a simplicity and painlessness of digital crossovering.
Well, digital X-Overs would appear to o...

Ronny, it is funny because I was juts about to carve my further observations about the Sound of my monitors. Last night I was listening Rigoletto by Callas and Gobbi on my monitor. I come to an interesting observation that I would like Monitors...
