Yes , romy I understand completely about how you feel with dc i feel the same way when thinking on all my system , to put dc on an amp , directly can be great but not practical , will requiere lot of space , a big battery bank etc etc , so not practi...

Romy,I don't recall seeing a bypass switch per se, and don't know if the other control functions ofter something equivalent. I haven't really experimented with the 3000+ much, as my system is in a state of influx, with addition of items (entire cabl...
...anyone here had heard or used this device. Does it look like it will accept the range of BSO files I'm reading about? If we're unsure, I could contact Paul and find out. But that's a bit outside my expertise...
I ...
The "listening to the room" is NOT the DPoLS subject in my view, however, if you feel that it is then it is fine with me.
The Cat
I agree with romy , I think DPOLS help us to find the most neutral zone in room but d...

Is my CEC TL0 stopped to work I was kind of suicidal as I do not feel to pay 10K for a new one and I will never find anything the sound as good. A friend of my suggested me to contact Nick Gowan who can fix CEC: http://www.tsound.com/inquiries.htmlPr...

Never had a 100kg power supply to play with, but I have certainly noticed that changing the power source affects dynamics (along with plenty of other things, too). I prefer my friend's system's dymanics when "grid power" is connected, vs giant batter...

Part of the reason we call our computers 'transports' is to encourage people to think of the number-crunching part of an audio system in the same already familiar terms as a CD player - because all the same things matter: CD transports vary according...
Amir,If you are looking for a transparent DAC and it could have a built-in preamp, you may want to take a look on:Merging + NadacNadac Player, same but a built-in music server (or something).I did not listened to them, but at lea...
For future reference, in case anyone else is as confused as I am about the content of this thread; from the horse's mouth: the Item DAT1 could just about be considered a 'DAW' (the SPDIF version records analog, and you can run...
I know there has been controversial discussion of this here, but anything upstream of a DAC, i.e. anything digital can have only one metric of quality: jitter (assuming bit perfection, which these days is assured). Unlike anythin...

Why is Acoustic Solid so interesting to me? Well, it should be to most when you read stuff like a $1,600 Black Wood Classic model can beat out a $5,500 Super Scoutmaster model from VPI, and a $4,000 Solid One can compete with a TW Acus...
The new Oppo uses the ESS Sabre32 DAC chip, which seems to maintain fidelity in the face of much higher jitter compared with others...or at least so the comparison above shows....so it might be able to achieve decent performa...

Hi Romy,
Have you ever heard any burned CD-R that wasn't disappointing on YOUR
transport? My impression is that all this "CD-R talk" is very dependent on
particular CD transport used for playing. Certainly there are other factors like CD-R...

Any computer does absolute the same level of universality by being a digital file player. My telephone does it but I do not call my telephone a “digital transport”. Ripping CD it is not what your devise does but the fr...

As I told before I picked recently a new interesting DAC and I got for it some AES/EBU cables. That made me to make the same Bidat vs. Lavry experiments only to use the AES/EBU interface with Lavry Gold. During those experiments I did not use S...

Hi Alex,Short of waving goodbye to the Bidat for a few months, you could always TRY the splitter idea from your favorite cable guy. It may be acceptable enough for your needs.Did you mean there is no space on the back of your passive/relay base...
Pacific Microsonics are filter kings, but if the Lavry is the best hardware, wouldn´t it be nice to let it play the CDs, too?
I did, the TL0 transport reads CD with so much more quality that any further experiments with DAC...

This is a bit of a childish "I'm right! - No, I'm right! - No, I'm right!" 'discussion'. I know that there are differences between acouctic live, amplified live and playback of a recording and never stated there wasn't or one could ever be mistaken f...
