I should have known ...
fiogf49gjkf0d
that Romy would have tried this out long ago.
Luckily for me, or is it determined ignorance, I do not hear problems related to electricity often enough to worry about it.
If the system sounds a little sour one day it is usually fine the next and for days afterward.
I know that until one tries something they likely do not know what they are missing, it just seems every one of these schemes has its own trapdoor.  One chooses their battles ...
The joys of suburban living?  Romy lives in a suburb, too, but something is different with what is circulating up there!

And this is unique to the speaker???

Romy said: He was an individual who come to this absurd meeting after his work and spent 3 hours of his life, with being paid.

Is there someone on this forum who has Not gone to an absurd meeting for 3 hours because they were paid??

OK someone asks an expert on the smart grid to speak at the Ausio Society. He says this is my fee. They say Fine. He shows up and talks about the smart grid because some audio types want to know more about it. Before he comes into the meeting he carefully removes the ear phone and turns off his IPOD device and puts it in his briefcase. He talks about the smart grid and then someone in the audience asks him how will this affect the transient response and slew rate during the first fortissimo of the B7. He looks at his briefcase in which sits his IPOD and then says "Why would there be any effect??"

What I meant to say that it was “without being paid”, it is possible to guess it from the context. Read rule $16 at

PurePower Press Release: the war is over, kind off.....
fiogf49gjkf0d
This thread is not about PurePower but since there is a LOT about PP in there I think it would be reasonable to post it here. I got last night a email with the following information. For sure my congratulation to Canadian, the battle well won. I wish them to lock to collect their money, the Floridan judge has zero authority in Taiwan but at least it will stop the US distributors to sell it in US, well perhaps will stop as they very much might continue to sell. They for sure will not be able to advertise, well unless they form a new company, new name and new site… Well, in civilizer countries the situations like this are very easy resolved by a quick visit to Baba Rapoport and breaking a few fingers but James Gandolfini is dead. Anyhow, with all my congratulation to PP I would like to note that the presents of Taiwanise "competitors" was not the major company problems, at least as I recognized it….  Meanwhile my both PP3000 and PP3000+ keep running with no problems of any kind. Below the latest PurePower update.

PurePower Press Release

For more info contact: richard@purepoweraps.com
Richard Janzen, Marketing Manager, PurePower Partners LLC

US Court Awards $649,000 damages to PurePower Partners against Taiwan
Counterfeiter

St Petersburg, Florida, December 30, 2014: Circuit Court Judge David Walker
today awarded $649,000 in damages against PurePower Audio Video Power
Supplies Corp, a US registered subsidiary of Taiwan electronics company
Winstream Technology Co., Ltd. and ordered the web site offering the fake
products shut down permanently.

The Taiwan owned company began offering counterfeit versions of PurePower®
audio power regenerators on December 4, 2011 and had been operating in
contempt of court injunctions granted on December 14, 2011. This injunction was
re-enforced by the court on January 5, 2012 with an order to cease and desist
from the illegal counterfeiting activities. In spite of the injunctions, it continued to
actively seek buyers for its fake goods using stolen dealer and customer lists and
copied marketing materials. The counterfeiters actually posted an exact
duplicate of the genuine PurePower Partners web site – complete with our
customers’ testimonials and our copyright notices. They had incorporated a new
company in Delaware USA with the confusingly similar name of “PurePower
Audio Video Power Supplies Corp.”

The real PurePower (PurePower Partners LLC) had become a technical and
performance leader in the high end audio and video market with its unique
technology Power Regenerator developed in Canada in 2003. PurePower
technology dramatically improves the sound and video performance of high end
AV components by delivering perfect AC power 24/7, ending the syndrome of
performance and dynamic response reductions due to poor AC power. The effect
is familiar to most audiophiles as “that midnight sound”, when they experience
the true capability of their audio and video systems on the rare late night
occasions when their utility power is free from distortion and voltage anomalies.

The trademarked PurePower® brand had already become a notable technical
success and a favorite of audio enthusiasts worldwide with favorable reviews in
international magazines and a dealer network spanning 30 countries. The
counterfeiting attack by the Taiwan owned company brought confusion and
uncertainty to the marketplace. This caused very significant business stress to
the true PurePower. With the support of our dealers and distributors, PurePower
Partners continued undeterred with the development and release of our new 3rd
generation power products. We have also expanded and re-tooled our Canadian
facility to build our new, improved PurePower+ product line.

PurePower has moved aggressively to halt any sales of the counterfeit product
and is counting on the support of the international high end audio community.
According to Damian Janzen, President of PurePower Partners LLC, “The moral
of our story is to always protect and defend your valuable IP every second”.
“The one silver lining of this frustrating experience was the amazing support of
high end audio dealers worldwide. With very few exceptions they refused to deal
with the counterfeit company, even while we could not yet supply our new 3rd
generation product. They exhibited a very high degree of ethical business
practices - making us proud to be part of this industry.”

Online Datacenter UPS + Balanced AC.
fiogf49gjkf0d
I didn't read all 60+ pages so I am sorry if it was already discussed but anyone already tried to use an big Online Datacenter UPS (TrippLite/APC/Other - for entire house?) plus a Balanced AC for audio?

I know that would be expensive but maybe someone have experienced.

Cheers!

Now I remembered of Isotek from UK: http://isoteksystems.com

The most interesting are EVO3 Super Titan and EVO3 Genesis - but very expensive. There are also the new interesting Mosaic Series but not on the website yet.
I personaly have some interest in give a try that but I can't do it right now. :-(

Cheers!

EDIT: Isotek products are well know to do exactly what the adversiting say it do, no more no less, but I never tried one to make a statement.

It Can Still Be Good
fiogf49gjkf0d
The not-good to bad electricity continues to plague me, but I have been slowly wrestling some long-planned system changes together, and today one of the changes that I've actually implemented met up with good electricity and Great Sound for some very satisfying Bruckner (7), along with an overall sense of satisfaction with the direction I've taken with my system. At the same time, I was not able to deny that the "engineer" on my London ffrr recording did his own "conducting" on top of Solti's efforts, "spotlighting" in a way that he (the engineer) thought would make it "more dramatic", or, whatever. Still, my idea of good sound is that it "allows" Music, and the Music was definitely here today. This always "charges my batteries", and this is one reason I listen to Music in the first place.

Nice!

Batteries at Home?
fiogf49gjkf0d
With the rapidly increasing technology driven by the electric car industry, lithium cell battery prices have come down. Tesla is now offering battery units for home use that can provide continuous AC power from an isolated battery source for as little as $3,500 USD.

Has anyone given this any thought as a possible solution to the variability of the quality of AC line power? It could potentially completely eliminate all issues with "good" and "bad electricity" days we suffer.

I was thinking about the same.
fiogf49gjkf0d
I was thinking about the same but with delivery beginning just this summer and I read somewhere, at the point of the announcement, there are already a huge queue, will take a while before someone test it for audio purpose unless luckily an "audiophile" bought that very early and shre the experience.

Here some alternatives to Tesla:

http://ca.askmen.com/video/big_shiny_things/tesla-powerwall-and-alternatives.html
http://wordlesstech.com/mercedes-benz-unveiled-a-home-battery-system/

EDIT: A point to take in consideration is if will need some sort of voltage conversion then a transformer...

Alex.

Do you think Tesla would case about us?
fiogf49gjkf0d
Well, for sure that is interesting development even though I do not see why normal people would ever need home batteries. If they do it to conserve the generally and then use it at peak time, when the energy presumably more expensive, then it has some merit but how would it be applicable to us, the audio people. If we presume that we use 120V for our audio needs (wish not necessary need to be 120V BTW) then what power out audio is not batteries but inverted that crate for us AC, and the “sound” of these oscillators/inverters is something that describes the sound of electricity. Tesla for sure would make great batteries but I do not think that they would case to make oscillators “good for sound”. The marker of audio people is negligible and I am pretty sure that audio aspect of electricity will not be the Tesla focus. For sure then can make just good oscillators that would happened to sound nice… For sure no one would object THAT.

BIG Batteries
fiogf49gjkf0d
Well, these particular batteries power heavy cars that haul ass for significant distances. Such truly large capacity batteries give us more options for powering audio components. Right now I only feed straight DC to my little DAC; but if I thought I had the "headroom" I'd take another look at the rest of my components. Yes, we will have to re-think the circuit layouts to get off the initial AC. But it shouldn't be too difficult to go with DC, once "enough" of it is available.

Tesla home battery effects for audio input

I think there should be two points to consider.

First, it may be more important to have a consistent waveform, which can be regenerated from the Tesla battery. If we have a consistent waveform, then we have something to work with to be able to refine the audio system to match this from start to finish. The issue, as I see it, currently is that the electrical supply varies from day to day and moment to moment; and this creates the problems with the sound.

Second, if home battery systems are adopted in significant numbers, the pollution of the grid power by use-related fluctuation may decrease, and might leave a cleaner or more consistent waveform to give more "good electricity days."

Well, I am not so optimistic about the “more good electricity days”. Even in my town, relatedly northern town, the amount of solar planes on the roofs grow quote rapidly and with the growing of solar planes we have a grow of super noisy solar inverters, smart meters and the rest of crap.

Yes, I do think that if somebody like Tesla would do inverter then it will be done to a more professional and stable level then it was done but PP. However, who knows how it will sound? The APS make way more complex and super reliable re-generators then PP but they do not sound well. I have no explanation why….

PurePower Canada stole my PurePower 2000...
fiogf49gjkf0d
PurePower Canada has officially earned the title of the single worst company I have ever had to deal with. They are either stunningly incompetent, or simply criminal. The degree of incompetence would have to be so great, though, as to be virtually impossible to believe, which makes me think the latter (they are criminals) is the more likely scenario. I can only conclude that they have knowingly stolen my PurePower 2000. I am writing this as a warning to others.

I purchased a PurePower 2000 many years ago and it worked fine, but I decided to sell it as I switched to a different power conditioning solution. I sold the unit to someone, and he claimed it would not work on battery backup. As my only explanation was that the batteries must have died, I ordered replacement batteries from PurePower to be shipped directly to the buyer at my expense. The batteries were never shipped. I repeatedly tried to contact PurePower, to no avail. Weeks went by, and the buyer filed a claim with PayPal and returned the unit to me.

At some point PurePower finally responded to my emails and apologized, offering to do a complete workup on the unit and replace the batteries. This was in May 2014. I (stupidly) shipped the unit to them then, and they have had it ever since (over a year).

I've called them approximately every week for the past 6-8 weeks. First, I should say that they hardly ever answer the phone, and if you think they're going to return a message or an email, good luck to you. When they do ultimately answer the phone, each time it's the same story -- they have the unit right there, it will ship "tomorrow", there was a delay because they didn't have the right packaging material / they were moving / the moon phase wasn't quite right / assorted other nonsense.

I can only conclude that they are simply never going to send it back to me.

At this point it's not about the money -- I just don't like being stolen from. I'm likely going to pursue legal action against them, even if it ends up costing me more in legal fees than the price of the unit.

in the meantime -- BEWARE.

Oh, and if you do some quick Googling of PurePower, you'll find that my experience is unfortunately not unique. How these people are still in business, I can't comprehend.
