Hi folks. Who ever listened to Living Voice Vox Olympian Speakers might've liked them as much as I do.
They got a great realism in their projection. Some things are obvious, some even claimed.
Its claimed to use excellent drivers, high quality ...

Hi Stephano
Nice to read. Agree. But reg. my concern to new Japanese way of woofing with 5cm compression drivers...
Did you try once a uncompressed drum-play in live level?
I mean judging woofers performance with a violin is somewhat difficult...
|
hi Romy! Good thought with the current on the damping...
I had another thought. High excusion might create lots of distortion in a compression chamber. No surprise.
But in my oppinion the sizes are often not in proportion. Lets calculate......
|
Hi Romy That's an interesting point! Very interesting. Why mids and highs should have a super light membrane and strong magnet to follow the rule of precise movement, speed, resolution, etc....While in lows its better to run muddy with heavy soft mas...
|
hi RomyI agree with the technical design issues. Though i experienced that for most modest domestic dynamics first order xover can work surprisingly acceptable. Also agree with bad impression of exhibition experiences are steered by many factors and s...

hi! Funny... i just passed it in Munich yesterday. Now its mentioned here. Of course i had to stop and have a listen with such cool look. Sorry to tell you, that things a imposter. I left in less than five minutes. It hurts my ears. Totally cold, sha...

There is no problem if you isolate it. Theyre all crap so take any, isolate the AC, go out via Toslink or Usb transformator to cut it off galvanic. ...
|
hi AmirIve been experimenting for long with this till i discovered it can be so easy and cheap. Just get a isolation transformator and an HF blocker. In this order respectively, for the pc only. Available for small money from industrial purpose, 2nd ...
|
also the phase you mean is actually reverse amplitude without delay. Which, on a 2 feet distance in HF, has absolutely no audible relevance. Its important in either lows or when operating dipole, as the distance of source in depth is near 0 so that t...

Hi romy. Agree there's lot of the reflection thrower machines existing. But the crucial thing is to understand the precedence effect. Doing it wrong like all others did before, you just slam reflections in the early phase of your main impulse from th...

Hi rowuk,
Suffering is relative to your expectation and perception. Still, take the best driver you can imagine, measure the distortion, and you see same pattern but better than any standard compression driver: all distortions are phenomal low, ex...

Hi Paul. Looks like blendet paste? Thats not an engineering approach...I know from small closed woofers enclosures this construction kills a lot of K2. But it doesn't treat the k3 or higher. So you gotta be careful to keep the balance. But as horns s...
|
good question... haven't heard it yet. Unsymmetrical sinewave and flattened top due to odd load... creates distortion. So i expect less distortion. Which is the same acoustical difference in perception of less stress, like driving not on the limit, m...

Hi thereFor some time its bugging me that compression drivers got a very heavy but odd load of air coupling on the membrane. I saw a scatch here to put ideally 2 Horns on each side of the driveway to balance it. That's obviously not so economically :...

An interesting finding to injecting HF without disturbing, but improving the imaging:
I got learn from a guy with his setup, which made sense to me after studying the precedence effect, and copied it with some changes in my way.
At the end, it ...

Hi Romy, agree the dealer and the room where the problem here.
Anyway, hunting for gold in the audio scene for ages, theres no way around the Wilsons with 6 figure price tag and review texts of almost pornography description of the sound.
Funny eno...

just been this feb in NY city to an exclusive Wilson studio. I thought that the rushy noisy exhibitions where their portfolio sounded very average to me was maybe not fair to judge, if everyone loves them so much. So in that studio i got all the time...

Hi Paul. Clear now. Well that "horn" actually adds a slight 6dB boost from 200 upwards, fading out around 1k. I assume that was just the missing piece to make most 8" driver (thats actually a fullrange) pretty flat up to the top. And likely what the ...
"Recommendations" stand
What do you mean?...

Hi Paul! Thx for the flowers. But its actually front loaded. I was long time done with the backloaded fullrange actually, dont like the performance at all, anymore. ...
