Reading the Yamamoto link you posted, it actually says the amp is an SET stereo amp, not PP. You may have been confused by the schematic shown in the EML link, that showed a single channel of an IT-coupled PP.
I certainly have not heard any AD-1 ...

Hi,I have just received a Yamamoto A-02 amplifier from Shigeki. It is a 2A3 / 45 switchable amp, not available in the EU. It is supposed to be Yammies top amplifier. I bought it in JP and sent it to Shigeki for new 230V transformer...

HiWell I am fairly new to active speakers. I've been in contact with Merlin and Guy in the UK about these type of speakers and their experiences. I'm just taking it all in and then going forward making a few mistakes and then learning about them!&nbs...

A site’s visitor sent me a link about the $100 per socket:

Despite of the semi-idiocy that is written in the promo material in the link the socket looks like the good one. I would personally would ...

…and I hope you did put your ET-703 tweeter in a time aligned position, did you?

Thanks for your reply Romy,The Johnson/RCA sockets had crossed my mind. The reason I'm looking for that specific type is that the contact surface of the pins is so much larger (much like with the Yamamoto).I could buy yamamoto's and not worry at all, ...

Yep, you re right, the Yamamoto A-06S is SET, I did not read it carefully and I was under presumption that A-06S is PP monoblock. Good for Yamamoto! The only amps I heard with AD1 were PP. Somewhere in the very end 90s I shortly was exposed to i...

That is kind of mysteries to me and very none expected. From the people who use DHT I heard many stories that 2.5V filaments driven by AC are less noisy then 5V or 7.5V. That is kind of self-explanatory as with higher AC voltage the more noise. S...

it is worth reiterating in this thread -- and perhaps Romy should update his advice in the relevant section -- that exotic japanese teflon sockets such as the one made by yamamoto soundcraft are no good for the 6c33c, whether because of insufficient ...

Hello everyone,This seems like the place where the 6C33C experts hang out so I figured I'd ask my question here.I'm currently collecting parts to build my very own 6C33C amplifier, and I had bought some of the cheap chinese sockets for it and thought...

These look like the absurdly expensive Yamamoto soundcraft teflon version, which I have used, and which do not work because the receptacles for the pins are shaped so that there is only a single point of contact when the pins go in. So the heaters pe...

You might try these: http://www.goodsoundclub.com/Forums/ShowPost.aspx?postID=1093#1093Still, I think Yamamoto sockets shell be fine. The material of the sockets base – would it be Teflon or anything else is less relevant. You need to wary about the ...

[quote user="Paul S"]So, does anyone know anything about "good" sockets for the ML-2s? I forget when and where I saw some sort of boutique Teflon jobbies that are pretty darned expensive. Maybe DIY Hi-Fi, in Hong Kong? Also, although Teflon is a ...
