Playing was various 3 feet long cable between my tuners frond end and AMX decoder my memories about my former cables idea got revised. That lead me to feel that I might not perceive as horribly and I did before an idea to make my own cable. In the past I used the POD’s ides to liquid damped cables and have very interesting results. I wonder if not to capitalize on those results and to make my own cable? It is not that I have any interest of knowledge in cable but I do need a cable and I have no one who would assuredly to deliver the result that I would like to have. The perspective of going over the hands of the cable makers, who have no clue what they do and juts sell accidental results, does not attract me.
So, I would like to consider building an experimental cable that I would like to call “Wet and Fuzzy”. The idea derives from my past observation that a presence of liquid silicon on bare wire makes the cable to sound very interesting. So, I would like to use litz wire, fuzz it up, increasing the “submergences” of the cable and seal it all into a tube of liquid silicon. The idea would look like this:
So I would need a ¾ of inch tube with thin walls. Then I would need some space-holders with wholes that would center the let out fuzzy litz in the middle of the tube and would introduce the “stops” on the litz’s “transmission line”. I would need two pairs of plugs that would seal the cable from both sides. I would need a gallon or two of silicon. And I would need to find if it makes scenes to mix the “fuzzyinized litz” with regular stranded or solid core wire that intend to put in the middle of the tube.
If somebody knows what can I buy a gallon of silicon and flexible and thin-wall clear tubing then let me know. I would give it a try to the “Wet and Fuzzy” cable… Rgs, Romy
