In my old place my records were more or less organized, some of them I kept in boxes in public basement of my old apartment but more or less I was able to find what I need. In new place to find the records I need is imposable. Yes, I did some measures and took some makings during the moving. When I moved I knew what those making were. It turned out I was too busy with other projects after I  move and the recurs were groped in the shelves  according to my marking but now, a year later I do not remember what those makings are.  So, I think it is a good opportunity to rearrange my records and to set them once and for good in the ordering style that would like them to be. I have probably somewhere around 15K of records, I would say 25 % of them out of order, at least the order I would like them to be. Autobiographical is not the order that I would like them to be, I have my own  rather complicated and convoluted patter to order records but I have to admit the I do have a shelf where I group records by their autobiographical significance. A could weeks back what I sorted my LP, it was much simpler ceremony then I thought , I give a birth to a large pile of “records of interest” that I would like to relisted or to listed as I do not remember them. I have next to me TT a shelf that I call “buffer”. This is my TODO list, or the records that I for whatever reason need to hear. I'm older than you and I calculate that I only have a dozen or so cycles through them before they sound just as good on a boombox speaker as over my stereo. One thousand LPs translates into about 650 hours of music. So if I listen 3 hours a day for say 300 days a year it will take me about 10 months to just go through them once. To go through them a dozen times will take me about 10 years assuming I make it to 70. After 70 I won't be bothered by digital high frequency filters anymore and I will need to get brighter harsher electronics so everything doesn't sound too dark. Now if I had 15000 LPs that would be about 10000 hours of music which would make it doubtful my hearing would last long enough to hear them all (no pun intended)

I have a shelf that I call “The best recordings ever” where I have perhaps no more than 1000 records and in many instances a few copied of different pressings. They are my records. The rest many thousands records are just sitting in another room. I call them “dark pull”. Some of them I know well and some of them still waiting own time to be pulled out of the dark pull.  They do not ask me to feed them and they are there because they are there. Many of them I bought purposefully and some of them just because curiosity in some music or most frequently in some interpretation. When you and I will die and the people who come after us will trash yours the more beloved records to dumpsters and will tell to themselves “Eventually we can get rid of this shit”. Than the life fill the whole purpose. As for the dumpsters, I already have planned that out. I have a second copy for all my thousand lps. When I get to 70 I will sell the backup copies on ebay. So when the fools  throw out my records after I've died laughing they won't know I've already sold them.
