Romy Hi, how can I ensure you will be that bored ( continuing with my inane posts obviously ) half the attraction of going would be meeting you! Gamma's are too big and would take too long to set up I suspect, regards Keith. ...

Romy Hi, how's the new dac? Do you feel ready to announce it? Regards Keith....

I also have the experiance that the eyes tell a different story than the ears. Sounds are much closer than they look.Even outdoors with very little reflections/obstructions. I once cheched this with a bird in a tree at about 20meters distance. Closin...

Thanks for your further thoughts and explanations Robert, Romy and others. It looks like the full room enlargement will be my choise. Dont know i want to block the windows though. Maybe i can solve this by making a glass window behind the screen.. I w...

Romy Hi, I apologise for the uncalled for familiarity, sadly the AMR had been whisked away before the arrival of the Lavry , it would have been interesting to experiment , I spoke to a chap today whose friend has the AMR and really likes it, he belie...

May i ask how far you are from the front of the upper bass horn (on axis) You also mention being in a 'small' room ?Rgs, Collin...

Wow Robert thanks for all your ideas.
I happen to be using a diagonal placement now as well and I really like it. I thought I was the only one who knew this ! :) I did not think this new room would be big enough to do it so I threw the id...

Romy when you use your transport and DAC how do you connect them. What kind of putputs does the Lavry have, my pre only has xlr ( balanced ) or single ended inputs ,could I use something like the lavry, also do you have a link to pacific microsonics ...

Rom's Hi I have been looking for something to play my CD's on, something that will make them sound more like vinyl ( whatever you want to call it, heart ,guts life ) the AMR is very well built ,looks good ,has some nice touches, sounds 'natural' but ...
|
Romy Hi just a quick post, recently spent a week listening to the AMR, cd77 really wanted to like it, built solidly, but sound wise it is lacklustre, what are you using digital wise? Is there anything out there that has the 'heart' of vinyl? Regards ...

The horn mouth will be 3-4 foot from the wall but you are right the MF/HF will be closer if i dont delay them so i can bring them out from the wall. If i line them up purely acousticly then they will move forward at least two more feet which puts the...

I thought my 30 degree notes might cause you to qualify me in that direction :) Yes i just found that thread. I however do not have much freedom to do a lot of rebuilding like he does, i wish i did.
The specific acoustic system will be a low cost pr...

I have found that with horns i can go much farther regarding angle and create a big image while retaining a solid center image and depth. The absence of early first reflections has alot to do with this phenomenon. I might not go that far in this room...

Romy,
I value your input so don’t pull out so quickly.. I was expecting your reaction though.
I,m not the 'typical Audio Moron' type, just planning ahead of time because remodeling is involved. Imagine YOU were forced to move into this room with yo...

Yes, i was already thinking the area behind me will need to be treated against reflections because i'm too close.
I have enough closet space so I’d like to solve it a bit nicer looking than a storage racks.
I'd still rather not use the violet...

Hello Romy and others,Ive been away for a long time taking care of my health but i'm back with renewed interest. I am moving to a new house in the future and have plans for a dedicated music room (and an occasional movie) The space is however much sm...

Paul Hi, I don't consider myself a dealer, just an enthusiast, I just wanted to discover just what was possible with audio replay, Thomas Woschnicks system (whee i first heard the Alpha's ) was just more real more like real life than anything I had b...

Romy Hi, I just didn't want you to think that i was just another hifi dealer , I just really liked the speakers, re the Allnics innards I will forward your question to Ralph at Cessaro he is the international distributor, I do k...

Romy Hi, there is nothing to say really, I was trudging up the usual hifi route, ( B&W 800's usual high powered solid state amps ) I thought a turntable upgrade would be the last step! Went to GT Audio to listen to Thomas Woschnicks tur...

Romy Hi, I only represent Cessaro in the UK now because I honestly believe in them, I don't represent any other makes or manufacturers, Ralph introduced me to Allnic ( he had tracked down the designer Mr Park )we compared the a...

Cello HI I have only heard the Cole for a short time, so it wouldn't be fair to compare, also I really can't say to what extent the LCR circuit contributes to the sound of the 1500, the Allnic is very dynamic, has high resolution and makes inst...

I heard the 'cole' LCR phono by the hifi supply recently at a friends house and it sounded ok, the Allnic 1500 that I am using at the moment is the best phono I have heard, and the price is extremely reasonable for the design, valve regula...

Romy Hi ,just a couple of things , in the Gamma there is another 1 inch TAD driver between the 4001 and the 703 , regarding the placement of the tweeter ,it is only recessed 3 or 4cm ,at a useable frequency range there will be negligible diffraction ...

Romy Hi, Ralph Krebs ( Cessaro's designer ) has been staying with me this week, we have enjoyed reading your site, Ralph thanks you for the interest in his speakers and says he will drop you a line when he returns home, on a...
