Achingly Beautiful Arias

Leo Delibes' opera, Lakme' is not often heard entire, although the duet I will cite pops up every so often. It is the achingly beautiful, sous le dome epais ou le blanc jasmin, sung by Lakme' and Mallika as they float off in search of flowers, midway through the long-ish Act 1.

This opera is unusual in that the lead wants a coloratura soprano, in this case, Mado Robin, whose voice can sound downright childlike at times.  Agnes Disney (mezzo-soprano) sings Mallika in this version, London A4307 (nice mono)

Pardonez moi, but I do not know how to make the proper typographical accents.
