Hi Romy,
No I really don't notice any strange treble effects - the Berning uses a simple low pass filter. The Siegfried is however noticably more susceptable to RFI and I have reason to suspect it puts out quite a bit of RF - although the bandwidth is quoted I believe as 2hz to 35khz. Subjectively though I find it to sound grainless and natural.
I crossover from the TD4003 to a TAD ET-703 at 8.5khz. As you know the ET-703 boasts extension out to 45khz but in my setup it is way down in level by then. I rarely listen to classical music I'm afraid - I suspect that may well change in years to come but, as I've only recently discovered the joys of Blue Note and Impulse I feel I have a lot of cultural catching up to do.
