The best picture of audiophilism
My youngest son, asked me what audiophile means. I have no idea where he heard this word, but it was a good opportunity to explain him Greek origins and so on. I sincerely kept under control my aversion to the word. Not that I feel that something is fundamentally wrong with the word but my very certain aversion to the ugly and cartoonish character that the word audiophile had in today's audio practicing community.

This morning, in my news feed, I got a link about hobby horse computation somewhere in Europe. I never seen this sport before and I showed it my son explaining that this is what Daddy feels about audiophilism. Of course my 8-year-old cannot get the sarcastic part of my metaphor but then I suddenly begin to "get" it myself. The comparing of today version of industry sponsored audiophilelism cannot be described deeper then this new sport can.
