Looking to brainstorm stand ideas
fiogf49gjkf0d
I have large midbass horns and midrange horns made by elevenhorns.   I am still trying to figure out a stand idea.  I've read many creative ideas but I still haven't found the idea that inspires me.   I do like the all wood direction that Rakeshorn took.    I know Romy went metal based on aesthetics of not seeing the stands.  Personally I kind of like the aesthetics of Jesses'.
Basically this thread is just a request for ideas, brainstorming as it was.

Again, do your own homework.

JKnechtel,

It is good that you are looking for an inspiration for frame for your acoustic system.  The frames (as a you call then stands) is a very undressing subject and I like to look at what other people do and analyze what they were trying to accomplish, if they did put any thinking in this, which happens very rarely. Besides the understandable prettiness and visual appeal (that I guess the properly of individual taste) there are many other aspects: functionality, adjustability, accommodation for further acoustic system development, side-masking, provision for aliment with different drivers types, mobility and many other aspects that need to be considered. In my view until you get the frame for the horns that you feel comfortable your accustom system is still in the stage of prototype.

Unfortunately what you did with posting your question will lead you to nowhere. No one, even you, have ability to visualize what are your horns are, hot they positioned, where they need to be aligned, hot the channels will be arranged. What you need to do is to take a pile of white sheet and begin to sketch. You need to sketch a lot. I mean 20-50 sketches with different ideas… eventually you will filter them out and you will see that while you do it you will discover more ideas and more options. As you end up with 2-3 sketches that represent what you want them to convert them to any 3D modeling sketch (like free Google sketch) and see how it will works for your in 3D. At this point you might share your result with others and ask about input.

In a way how you asked, your request is too wide. It is like you ask somebody to give you an idea of a bicycle dosing but you do not define what you preferences are and what the bicycle will be used for. No one will do for your groundwork, you need to initiate the creative present, present some results that would indicate the direction you would like to go. From there the people who went over it will be able to give to you their recommendations, objections of perhaps the inspiring idea or new directions.

Rgs,

Fair enough

You have a point, but I was mostly looking to see how other people might approach the problem and use the solutions to see my own thoughts.  I have looked at your solution, Jesse's and Rakesh's as well and some others, but I am still looking for more ideas.
I am not super creative when it comes to design, but given a good spark of ingenuity I am good at running with it.
