More about step up transformers
I'm still puzzling about the thing of the TX-103. I've been talking to a friend who shares this absurd passion and I think is not a moron, and less ignorant than myself. He doesn't know the S&B stepup, but is using some Bertolucci transformers. Do you know them? They're hard to find and quite expensive, probably more than the S&B from factory. If you know them, I'd be thankful to read your opinion about how do they perform in the aspects I'm more interested.

Regards,

Ant

Less about step up transformers
Anthony, I do not know anything about them. I used Jensens, Altecs, EVs, Ears, Shelters, Grahams, UTCs, S&Bs, Otophones, Tamuras, Denons, Cotters, ET, Siemenss, Sowters and few others no-name transformers and I can comment of them. I only heard about Bertolucci and nothing else. I know that your European Lundahl dose ale very inexpensive transformer but I have no idea how good they are (I have Lundahl output transformer that I still need to try). There are many transformer manufactures out there. Are you planning to dedicate yourself to selection of “the best” or you will get a transformer and spin those records?

Well, I have to plan carefully my purchases. I'd rather spend my dough on discs than in gear, any piece of electronics I buy are less discs I can buy, my income is limited :-( So once I have decided that getting the SUTs might put my vinyls' sounding closer to what I think is correct, I'd like to get the ones that can help better. If you or any of the habituals here had listened to them, I'd know if they can be a move in the right direction or not..... Perhaps I'm too perfectionist or anal-retentive, whatever you may prefer :-) LOL, but you're very right, getting the TX-103 (I wonder what has that number to do with audio) is a safe bet and quicker.

Rgrds,

AJ

AJ, I understand your “frustrations” but to facilitate purchasing decisions is not something that I am interested in. Sorry.

I know Romy, I know you dislike commenting about gear performance when somebody is planning a purchase, but I had to try it anyway ;-)

Don't know what's up with the e-mail, it's my personal address and I've been receiving the notifications of the threads, but you can disable the thread monitoring feature if it's causing you problems. Perhaps a temporary problem with my ISP.

Thanks and regards,

Ant
