[quote user="Romy the Cat"]Now my midrange channel need no upper range diffusion and now I feel that the result I’m getting from T350 is too soft and too transiently slow for S2. So, I kind of very mildly begin to look out there and to try top fugue ...

Have you tried using the Edgar350/2441-combination between the upper bass- and midrange horns, like Romy’s fundamentals channel?
I use a very similar combination (140 Hz and 600 hz tractrix with Studio 8M and JBL 2420 drivers, respecti...

Looking at the coming MET “Eugene Onegin” production on February 24 it would be very interesting to hear Renée Fleming as Tatiana. I always love when foreigners sings Russian repertoire, particularly if they are “really trying” and if they are somebo...

I have to note that I do not like the play at THIS performance but still it does a good video documentary (with incredibly stupid camera work though).

The units that i put in my pictures JBL AND ALTEC A7 both designs have a resonance just like all wood that you would rap your nuckels on even 2 inch thick plywood will resonate at a given frequency, that goes for glass, cement, metal, they all do...

I am not a big supporter of Sakuma’s cult but it is a nice video for those who are, and who do not know what stays behind it…. (in Japanese)

Here is another one. The celebrated “Si vendetta, tremenda vendetta” from the end if the Rigoletto’s second act. There is not a lot going on the stage and look what the sensational Tito Gobbi turned the duet into? Gilda sung by Lina Pagliughi and it ...

[quote user="floobydust"]If you do some modeling you're running about 15.5 watts of dissipation on the plate and pushing over 4.5 watts output. Running the higher B+ voltage (350 volts) with a 1K cathode bias resistor and the 2.5K load results in hig...

It looked like they had "only" about 300-350 people on stage in Tanglewood. I think the original score called for about 750, at least that is how many Jascha Horenstein had on stage in the Royal Albert Hall in 1959. He also had about 6000 people in...

You could source used TAD tweeters for ~$1K pair .They sound exceptionally smooth and extended .More so than infamous T-350 and with better "tone" which may be relevant since your 288 are tonaly "dead" according to the Cat. Who knows, he may be right...

[quote user="floobydust"]Running the higher B+ voltage (350 volts) with a 1K cathode bias resistor and the 2.5K load results in higher distortion than the text-book operating point, which is B+ of 300 volts and a 750 ohm cathode biasing resistor and ...

Agreed.... ditch the choke... you don't need any additional decoupling. One last model shows the following assuming a 350 volt supply and a 6K load.Useing a 1.21K cathode resistor, it works best to minimize distortion and balances the transfer charac...
