The Lazy Boy Solution
Thanks, Robin. I actually do most of my FM listening at night, while lying in bed. Initial radio set-up was based on best reception without headphones or their cables, and just using the radio's built-in antenna; easy-peasy, as I told in my initial posts for this radio thread. I had some sonic/reception issues with IEMs, and more with the HD650s, with their longer cord, mostly the typical FM "rushing" sound, but also some R/L (stereo) dropping in and out. Not much info online, but last night I draped the headphone cable differently, away from the radio (and away from myself...), and (voila'), the problems went away. I want to keep the radio where it is, so I can reach it easily, as there is no remote. I was hoping that shielded headphone cable might allow me more freedom with cable placement, leaving me more "slack" in the cable. Never mind that I have always preferred the sound I get from un-shielded cables...

Best regards,Paul S

First Simple Attempt
Thanks, Robin. I actually do most of my listening while lying in bed, at night. I set up the radio where I can reach it (no remote), and I get the stations I want well enough with the built in antenna. I did not find much online, but I was hoping I could keep some slack in the headphone cable if I went with shielded cable. Last night I finally just draped the cable away from myself and the radio/antenna, and that fixed the worst of the reception/sonic issues, albeit there is not much slack in that cable now. I suppose longer cable would be its own problem, probably shielding, as well. Gotta love hi-fi!
Best regards,
Paul S
