Is There a Minimum System?
Wow, Romy, with all of my audio experience, now I wonder if I have ever even had the experience you speak of here! Something I am now particularly confused about is, are you saying this experience might come from any playback system, or any music, as long as the speaker(s) and one’s self are in the correct relative positions in space? If the playback system is “not important”, how small and/or rough could the playback be and still deliver the results you speak of? Could it be mono? Could it be a clock radio? Hard for me to digest if there is no “minimum requirement” other than DPoLs. Is the space likewise unimportant? Could it be outdoors? As you can tell, I am confused! Another thing is, does DPoLs as you understand it relate to “It”, as we have discussed it here?

Audio Critique and DPOLS
Romy thanks for video.
I think it is very interesting subject talk about what happen to audio judgments before and after DPOLS.It means for example I compare two different DACs when speakers are not in DPOLS then I find the perfect speaker position for each DAC and compare the sound of two DACs again.
I just listened to one system so I can not comment but I guess in DPOLS our judgments differ .

My Story
I started audio around 2000 , Like all other audiophiles I was looking for perfect sound and I did not know about DPOLS.One night in 2009 I was at my friends home and we pushed furnitures away from speakers and moved both speakers 50cm (maybe more) away from real wall.It was shocking experience …
The sound level (SPL) dropped around 6db and the sound was perfect in all area even out of sweet spot.It was completely changed my view to the sound.
The audio system was wilson watt puppy 7 / Conrad johnson pre power and dCS elgar / shynuta cables .
When I left the home the owner changed the speaker position and magic gone.We never find that position again.
I searched the web and no high end website wrote about my experience except goodsoundclub. If you see my first post in goodsoundclub is in 2009.
There are many things that I do not know about DPOLS but I am happy Stirling Trayle can help to find it.
