What 10k Buys You These Days

No one else posted this, so I'll take one for the Team by mentioning Fremer's May 2012 Analog Corner article in Stereophile.  Apparently, Fremer has gotten at least two high-dollar Lyra cartridges with indifferent stylus-to-cantilever mounting.  I commend Fremer for mentioning this instead of working with Lyra to cover it up.  Obviously, MF is inclined to see, hear, think and report the best of a major Patron, so God only knows what else might be wrong any of these cartridges. Let this be ANOTHER LESSON to those with their own eyes, ears and brains.

Once again, top flight phono cartridges are not something that can be whipped up just anywhere, by anyone inclined to do it.  And, once again, there is no uniform, direct correlation between quality and price.

This is how audio gonorrhea spreads.

Fuck the Fremer and anathema to each single audio product he touches. Sometime those whore do play the primitive publicity games in order to send a message of “own integrity”.  That all BS and I do not even want to talk about it. Any single audio product this idiot touches has a metastasis of infectious audio disease.  One just needs to use a rudimental audio hygiene and do not jeopardize itself by even looking at that Fremer-like life form. Look at the products the never was abused by the Fremer’s gonorrhea. For instance it is a little know fact the Alnic Company sends his top flying cartridges to prospective buyers to try. You will not see the marketolog like Fremer to review Alnic and I will not be surprised if the best Alnic MC will do much better and cost a fraction of what the Fremer-contaminated products cost.  I do not push the Alnic cartridges – I do not know anything about them but I do applaud a company that can send you a few cartridges to try – this is how cartridges must be sold.

Well, this Stereophile "article" is worth to be read :-)
1. Jonathan Carr wrote in forums that this Atlas cart is the best sounding one he ever made (ok, he does it with every product until a more expensive one will come...)
2. The High end crowd (Romy would name them moronss...) raved it even without listening to it and named it "State of The Art" cartridge.
2.1 The crowd rated it unheard among the best out there.
3. Framer :-) got the Atlas and with his sharp eye he discovered that SRA is not right (92°) and wrote about "done wrong...and whatever blubber..."
4. Lyra found no end to excuse for a faulty Quality control and promised to deliver all Atlas with the right SRA
4.1 The are reviews out there (endless rave of course) from others who got it earlier...did they listen to a wrong aligned cart????? And raved????
5. Then Framer got a proper Atlas and then it was - of course - great.
6. He also wrote that his former Titan i review was not done right because he didn't know the SRA Importance at that time but now he knows (and the Titan is even better now....than ever before).
I was some time ago at one of his Demos "How to align a cartridge..."
Hey I thought I have an imbecile in front of me...he explained 2 minutes why the watch should be removed when trying to mount a cart into the Headshell...then he needed another minute to remove his watch and place it somewhere...
Well, BS is a too nice word for all of that....

Kind Regards
