Massive Obstacles
Sure, contemporary polymer concrete can be made suitable for speaker enclosures or horns. Its biggest sonic benefit is that the material itself is fairly non-resonant. It's just a bitch for a DIYer to make one after another while experimenting with shapes and sizes, at least as bad in this way as turned horns. A big problem for speaker "manufacurers", who - one supposes - have made final decisions on shapes and sizes, is that the stuff is HEAVY, at least it is if it's going to damp resonances. And heavy stuff costs extra to deal with, at every stage along the way. This would appear to limit this material to "the high-end market", which market (and marketing) has broken any number of asprirants. More likely are the Oswald's Mill type horns, which either ignore or feature self resonance. Don't know if you've seen/read the Jessie Dazzle thread, on the horn board, but if not, it's worth a look.

Best regards,
Paul S

Lately...
Actually the way how I feel now it is not about best material for horns construction, or not even the best profile for the horns opening but rather about best results despite of materials or profiles. Lately I am not looking for the things that what works well, at least it does not fascinate me. What fascinates me what works very well despite that it should not. It is easy to get good sound from a concrete horn. Trey to archive the same making horn from super thin sheet of paper and to make THAT to sound good…
