Nothing Is Perfect
fiogf49gjkf0d

Take the best components, the best listening environment and will you have the perfect system, maybe for a few fleeting moments.

Everything can be improved, speaker positions adjusted, components upgraded. Take the perfect phono stage, we can change components to better quality ones, adjust values to gain the optimum, but then along comes another idea, a better quality component and different way of doing things, today's best is tomorrows has been.

We are all on a journey, some are further along than others but none of us has reached the end, that is why it's so intriguing and keeps our interest.

Do not disparage something or someone having lesser than what you have because tomorrow yours may be the lesser, and you may be the one playing catch up.

I am sorry, HypnoToad, but the whole notion that you are trying to present or to defend I found very faulty, not to say Moronic. It appears that you feel that Audio is some kind of compliance with some kind with external rules of “better quality components” or “better listening environment” or the “perfect systems”. This is THE idiotic absurd that unfortunately so many people in audio do impose to themselves. I would not argue this point, will not agree or disagree; I would just deny the entire assertion of the question. If one did not found the internal foundation that motivates him/her in his actions in Audio and in his/her judgments in Audio then I truly do not care what s/he might think about Audio.

"Perfect", "best" - hahhaha, what does it mean?
fiogf49gjkf0d
HypnoToad, you got it all wrong. Sound result has nothing to do with given audio equipment, because it is entirely related to the level of evolving of listener’s reference points. If you are able to understand what I mean, then you will realize that the word "best" means absolutely nothing if it has not been applied in context of something. The whole audio subject is about that "something". This site has a lot of valuable information about that "something". Actually you will hardly find any information about that somewhere else, because people are not equipped to talk about sound and its multiple aspects. Start reading this:
http://www.goodsoundclub.com/Playback/MyPlayback.aspx

Then find some spare time and start reading the threads in this section:
http://www.goodsoundclub.com/Forums/ShowForum.aspx?ForumID=33

After you read all this content, you will eventually realize how empty your post is.

Best regards,
Haralanov

It Seems People Do Not Understand What They Read.
fiogf49gjkf0d
I appreciate your responses but it seems you do not understand what you read.

Please re read what I wrote and when you truly understand it reply.

But posting nonsense just because you are not able to comprehend is useless.

I thought this forum was of a higher caliber but it seems it's really like the Oprah Winfrey show, a mere self indulgence trip with no real substance.

The Premise Behind the Premise (Promise)
fiogf49gjkf0d
OK, H-T, I read and re-read.  Just to clarify, did you mean to suggest that "things change", or something like this?  Also, does change come because "something better comes along"?  If either of these, then I think the responses were/are apropos.  If you meant something other than this, please be less satorial.  (... not to re-invovke the ever-mysterious Merlin...).

Best regards,

First true troll in years
fiogf49gjkf0d
I'm surprised to read such a trolling post in this forum. Romy must be ageing to allow these things. H-T maybe you're not clever enough to realize that your own post includes opposite meanings. Something ideally perfect by definition cannot be improved. If it can be improved isn't perfect. By the way, nothing made by humans can be perfect. It's a built-in feature of human condition.

If you mean
fiogf49gjkf0d
that this is another forum of frustrated bottom feeders and impoverished " inteligentsia" of dumpster diggers who really have no first hand experience (no $$$) but are above the crowd  in the mysterious matter , well,  (probably) you're right (or wrong -to parapahrase Polish union leader who became an unfortunate president ;0) You can still enjoy a different angle though.
