As one of the perpetrators, I should chip in, I guess.Lower crossover for the RCA was 430Hz. All slopes were 4th order. I did try shallower, but we preferred the steeper slopes and it does make it easier. With a lot of work, I think shallower slopes ...

I don't think Steve "bought into" the conical propaganda, more that it is easier for him to make conical horns and get a system up and running. So this is by no means finished. We have discussed him trying some different profiles (Le Cleac'h) for the...

I did mention to Steve about the angling of the horns and he told me that he started with them horizontal, but preferred them angled as in the photos. Who am I to argue! :-)The crossover phase change was because he's using second order crossovers whi...

[quote user="decoud"]Very many thanks, Pete: I shall drop them a line. I don't suppose you have a reference number or something by which they could identify the job? If they have got a CAD file on it already there would be no need for them to do any ...

Yes, the company that made mine is called "pulse racing" - http://www.pulse-racing.co.uk/ They're on Slough Trading Estate.I gave them the details and also took an S2 in for them to measure. When they arrived they fitted absolutely perfectly, so I'd ...

I had some adapters made, exactly like Romy's. I found a local engineering company in the UK (Slough) to do mine for me. The price was GBP240 for 8 pieces as some friends wanted some also. ...

Hi Romy, by "2002", I meant the TAD TD-2002, not sure if that was clear. To me, it's usually clear fairly quickly if a driver is interesting and has further potential. The S2, IMO certainly does - even in a far from optimised installation, it gives a v...

Having recently heard the 2002 on a couple of occasions, I would definitely say that it is not sterile and used correctly is probably the next best thing to an S2 - lovely tonality. I suspect that it should be used >1 kHz or even more....

Hi Chaps, I view of the fact I have two pairs of S2 drivers, I'm intrigued by the thought of running them a la Romy, i.e. high and low. So, in addition to procuring a pair of Big Mama horns, I'm discussing with Martin the prospect of getting some hig...

Hi Romy,[quote user="Romy the Cat"]Pete, I do not think that it makes a sense to searched for “LF for use with Vitavox S2”. Do you think that there are good LF to use with Vitavox S2 and there are good LF to use with other drivers? I do not think so...

At Romy's suggestion I've created a new thread for this. I have been thinking about what sort of bass solution to use with the S2. I was hoping to be able to  get the S2  low enough (c. 300Hz) to make this a bit easier, but it seem that onl...

Hello Chris, Yes, the 340s are superb. Martin suggested I cut them myself, but they're very nicely made and I really don't want to make a pig's ear of it. I wish I'd had him make them with an "adapter" so I could use larger format drivers. I didn't h...

Hi all, They look fantastic! I've been talking to Martin recently about some horns for my S2s and he mentioned he was developing some 160Hz horns. I guess these must be them! I already have some of the smaller 340Hz Azuras, but they have  1" thr...
