Yesterday WGBH broadcasted live from Tanglewood the program

RAVEL: Rapsodie espagnole
BRUCH: Violin Concerto No. 1 with Pinchas Zukerman
RIMSKY-KORSAKOV: Scheherazade

What I caught myself was that I actually liked how BSO sounded for the first time since James Levine stepped out of podium this summer. The BSO did some typical “BSO confused things” but it was all together rather straight and stable play. The Bruch Violin Concerto and Scheherazade were particularly interning. I would LOVE to hear Miguel Harth-Bedoy do the same in a concert hole, not in the Tanglewood’s open air as I feel it defused and undermined what he was trying to do. Anyhow, I need to learn more about this young Peruvian guy. In fact I am planning this week to re-listen the recording I made of the BSO play yesterday.

Would Mr. Harth-Bedoya be someone why might be the james Levine successor? Certainly his generation will be. Miguel was Assistant Conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and nowadays he is a Music Director of a few second rank orchestras. The 20 years old Peruvian Miguel Harth-Bedoya… The 20 years old Venezuelan Gustavo Dudamel… Where is the hell the young American-brewed talented conductors?  Getting killed in fucking Kandahar and Fallujah?
