has no lyrics, so no one sings along when it's played. They've raised a contest to find some lyrics for it, so in the Olympics the sportists would sing, but it's a tough call. This is a polarized country and what some people finds dandy others believe is reminiscing of the dictatorial era. In any case it's a military march from the XVIIIth Century and musically has the same value as the whistling march played in the "The bridge over the river Kwai" movie.

I like Germany's Anthem based on a Haydn's concert. Italian is OK, sounds as a fragment of a Verdi's opera, but I ignore anything about its composer. It's been a long time since I heard Soviet anthem, but I remember it as a nice piece of music. Of course I never had the chance to listen a decent performance of it.
