Post Subject: Tonearms criterias??Posted by Muse on: 2/17/2008
Hi,

I will buy my second tonearm as an addition to the one (Alphason HR100S) I'm using. I didn't have the opportunity to listen and compare any of the good tonearms that is being reviewed as good (??) by the audio society and to be honest I don't have too much trust to those reviews (people are so much subjective as far as the price go up, and I always see a direct relationship with the price tag). My question is what should someone to look when buying a tonearm. There are lots of things to consider as a design like arm is heavy or light, 9" vs 12", linear, unipivot etc. I know it is also dependent on the cartridge compatibility, but is it really dependent on the turntable? I'm seeing in some reviews that this tonearm works good on that turntable, or this and this match to each other very well??
Your experiences, knowledge would be appreciated for enlightening me on this subject.

Regards
Okan
