I would like to remind that many, unfortunately very many people use VTA for a tonal balance of their analog setups. DO NOT DO IT! VTA is not the tool that should be used to make sound more or less tonally brighter or to make the LF more or less damped. VTA is a property of needle-disk interfaces and it is responsible for readability of the grove, for imaging and for few other things. It dose highly affect the tonal balance (more or less, depends of many parameters) but to find a correct VTA you should not pursuit by analyzing the tonal balance of the entire system (as very many people foolishly do). Let your cartridge to read the complex records properly and let them to maintain the stereo and mono imaging properly. If your cartridge/arm does it and still has some tonal imperfections then lock the new-found correct VTA and address the problem with the tonal balance somewhere else.
Good lack,
