Post Subject: Delay or not delay Auro surround channels manually?Posted by Romy the Cat on: 4/27/2025
Yesterday I have debate with Bill regarding application of Auro 3D. My setting for immersive channels are time-aligned. Bill uses intentionally implementing delays for all surround channels.  I think he is wrong but I am not sure that I am right. I think the greatest benefit of Auro surround channels that reverberation extension has been factored into the sound they output. I think intentionally implemented delay should destroy the fabric of the music picture unfold in the room.  The reason why I know set Auro 3D has factored in delay because when I pose my CD the sound from a main channel stop immediately but the sound from surround channels is keep coming, and shot itself off in time. So the question is, if Auro 3d has already factored mechanism for delay, and a configuration for the size of the room need to be reconstructed, I do not think that we need to implement intentional delay for each reverberation channel. This is just a theoretical observation and I am not insisting the time right. However it does sound logical to me.
