Paul,
Just a style point with me. If I am responding specifically to someone I will either start with their name or include a quote. So my comment was intended to the Hypothetical Other to support the mention of Hurwitz as a commenter but just to specify what areas I consider him to be most valuable. So for lesser known artists and works I consider him to be invaluable and for mainstream widely available repertoire less so. And yes like you I find extended symphonic cycles to not be uniformly successful. Regards
