I have not read this book (the wood effect) and if you have shopping link please sent it to me.I am not sure but It seems even amplifier speaker connection is important for sound.In past I have inverted the signal phase in my DAC and also inverted speaker cable positive/negative connection , because the signal polarity inverted two times it means overally the signal polarity not changed but the sound was alittle different to my ears if i am not mistaken.I did not repeat this test but if you have similar experience please let me know.
