Hi Romy, Many thanks for replying. I do not want to modify the two drivers. I agree with about all the BS from people selling speakers with TAD drivers. What I want to do is replace the crossover with one of higher grade parts and thereby also eliminating the many jumper connections of the original crossover. So I wanted to get inside the speaker cabinet to try and work out what was going on. I finally managed to do this by removing the bolts to the bass driver and then putting my hand into one of the front ports to the back of the bass driver and pushing out - it had got stuck over time. Interestingly the external crossover is supplemented by what looks like another internal impedance matching circuit. I wonder why they did not build this into the external crossover. I have tried very hard to find on the web a schematic for the crossover for the Pioneer Exclusive 2404 or the older 2402 but could not find anything. The schematic would have been a big help.
