Bluewolf, I do not have experience with modification of TAD drivers. You did not say what you want to modify, what you want to accomplish but this is a separate story.

Interesting that the whole notion of TAD drivers modification is kind of point of contention for years. There are not a lot of “expensive” compression drivers made today, TAD is still doing them. So, naturally the companies who want to make contemporary horn-loaded loudspeaker and why do not want to be involved into buying 60 year old junk off eBay they choose to use TAD drivers. Now, everyone knows how much TAD cost and everyone knows what sonic advantages/disadvantages TADs are associated. So, if a company wants to get $1000 TAD driver, supplement if with $200 horn, sell the loudspeaker $20K per channel and to claim that their product has no TAD signature problem then the company claim that they use modified TAD drivers. It is might be what they do but I have very high suspicion that it is BS and no does anything to TADs. I spoke in past with 2 speakers makers who very much insisted that their speaker’s TAD are altered. I asked them what they were trying to overcome by their modification in the sound of default TAD drivers. Both of them were not able to answer. So, I declared their modification claim a simple marketing BS. If you sensibly modify drivers you always very eager state what you have fixed.
