I remembered reading this buried deep on the Lavry forum:

I also remember reading either on the dCS site or in the Stereophile review that the Verona clock was a later addition to the stack. Originally dCS did not think an external clock was necessary but due to the experiments of some Japanese audiophiles with an external clock decided that it did improve things.Rerurn to Romy the Cat's Site
