I am stuck with headphones for a while. In my search for a decent system I bumped into some interesting and odd stuff.

Smyth Research Realiser A8 is an sound processing product for headphones. The theme is that one can reproduce the sound of any system via ear/room measurements and processing through the box. We've seen some iterations of this basic idea over the years:

The demo files unfortunately don't have personalized ear measurements as noted on the site, so the demo experience is suboptimal.

The concept is cool. . .but I would like to hear more complex music via optimized ear measurements.
