There is new hope for the discriminated analog Audiophile:
The Importer wrote in a Forum about that Table that " it measures at a level no other turntable we did comparisons with can come close to... "And some readers rate it as a great unit even when they can read, that it was delivered with defect bearing. The manufacturer, all very highly educated engineers, sent the tables with mounted platter to the customers (Direct Drive unit)."We have compared the Wave Kinetics NVS directly with a number of turntables which have been widely recognized in the past as "the best" with HUGE price tags.
First, we devised a system for measuring vibrations and noise in each table and then did our comparisons followed by listening sessions. In each case our system easily out performed them in both criteria, measuring and listening."
It was spinning with defect bearing at RMAF and some very knowledgeable enthusiasts rated it as a superior Performance. The low frequency rumble gives a good PRaT.
I copy some lines, because I think, it is very helpful to show, what outstanding Design of today is able to deliver:
"I heard the bearing noise just once during my long stays in the room. I believe it was a Bill Henderson passage "Send in the Clowns" where the noise made itself present. It still sounded incredible! You should hear how the new Dusty Springfield "Dusty in Memphis" sounded. Holy smokes!"
Some units are now delivered and there is a enthusiastic owner and Audiophile, a Mr. Mike Lavigne, who states, this Turntable is a completely new chapter in analog reproduction. He uses with with 2 Arms made from wood and this beats everything he ever had before. His table seems to have survived the shipping without bearing defects. Very unusual, normally the vibrations and shocks from long time shipping (Truck, Cargo Plane) will damage any bearing. I think, they are the only ones in the whole world, who ship such a spec heavy unit completely build up. Even Seiki noted years ago never to move the tables with mounted platter...
Owner ML: This Arm Designer became a personal friend over all those years of development and to get this design right, he used hundreds of different Armtubes to get the one he is using now. But he can sell it only direct, because it is so awfully expensive, that the normal mark ups with dealers would be too much for the suffering Audiophile who is looking for the best.Great news.
