What however I fell is shameful in the images above, besides bad taste, is that fact that a president of a country and prime-minister of a county did not find own country audio to make the pictures. Presidents do not plug commercial products. When somebody from White House interviewed then cover the Apple or IBM logos on computers and brand of microphones and camera – it is not the pace for products placement.   This is understandable and everyone work along with it. Even is a President does decide to use his office for commercial advertising then use the products of your fucking country. I can’t imagine that Clinton, Bush or Obama would make picture from WH’ resentence with they hugging a China -made turntable or a German vacuum-cleaner. I think the images above are a slip or this public relation office. If he wanted to demonstrate himself as an audio person the n it had to be products of his country.

I'd agree with that. I wouldn't mind seeing the British PM being seen to support the manufacturers here (such as Avid & Naim!) in such a public way. However, such conspicuous consumption wouldn't be well received here in these straightened times and also I suspect that if he has any music interest at all, an iPod will be adequate as it is for millions of others.

Forgive my ignorance.  Are there currently manufacturers of 'high end' turntables, cd players, amplifiers & speakers in Russia?
I'm sure there are but what brands are they?

Markus. Hasn't that always been ML's target market?
