In my new room I would like to accomplish my long objective to get for Macondo a new Fundamental Channel. I would like my Fundamental Channel to employ 170-180 Hz slow-opening horn and to use a driver with 350-400Hz crossover point. Sine I do not have too much height between tweeter and Injection channel I thins to go for a wide horn, sine it will not go higher then 1000Hz then I presume it will not impact imaging . I wonder if anyone have seen such a horn or I need to consider ordering a custom one. I do not mind to design my own and to order it to be made but I have no idea at this point what driver to use and consequently what throat to target. I do not mine to use some exotic Japanese drivers that reportedly can go down to 100Hz but: 1) I do not know how interesting they sound at 300-1000Hz 2) The people who sell them have no clue what resonant frequency they have. Still, I am looking around and if something interesting pop up then I would consider to use it.
