sciroppo Hi Clark,
I've read your articles about the Reality Check system to improve CD sound. It seems is very little you can disclose about how it works. I guess that being based on a PC DVD-reader and a PC burner all what it does depends on software, so I wonder if the program alters in some way the original data by rolling off certain frequencies or "enhancing" the audio stream. I can't believe that this thing can "align harmonics with fundamental notes" without some sound processing, the bits just follow one each other and by themselves don't tell if they're a fundamental or a transient harmonic. If the system doesn't alter or process the audio stream, then it can only work by "forcing" the burner to use more power to make darker pits on the CD-R. This also could be done using a PC system and some software. Do you have experience with any software or system that could do that?
I remember that Romy once asked here if we knew some system to burn CD which didn't screw up the sound. Does this thing burn PC based files as an external burner with its supposed benefits?
Do you know if the Reality Check system can make better sounding copies of Copy protected CD's?
Finishing with these questions. Would you please describe how the "improvements" do for better music in any system?. There's other thread here about the "moronic" use of audio vocabulary which just follows industry interests to sell us more products, but this vocabulary actually tells nothing about the musical capabilites of systems and devices. I'd be thankful if you could explain how the music is better portrayed by using those enhanced discs.
