Lets look at it...

"The carlson is a broad band resonator" - hrm... It does ocour as elegent solution on first looks but do you wnat a broard band resonator coupled to the end of your midbass horn? This aside it does look nice way to "introduce" horn into room.

Where it occours elgent to me is in maturation. Occours like would be very elegent way to implement "maturation" to midbass horn. Very elegnet indeed.

Would the exponential horns mouth be at the floor? and the conical/Karlson part purely an extension? or is the theoretical mouth of the horn designed to be somewher half way up the conical part or the top? i.e -

Is the karlson a way of matching impedence of the driver to impedience of room? if so, is horn not more superior way of doing this and there for no need for Karlso. I dont know. maybe others do???

Side note Romy, you may hve just come up with solution to your 60hz rotunda Helmhertz. Put a Karlson entry to rotunda and broard band the resonence! Interesting!
