In US peoples do not celebrate New Year as it done by all people around the word.  In Boston we have a First Night event, that is a cripple parody to Old World New Year celebration. Here are the classical music events during the First Night:

American Guild of Organists: Brian Jones,  Arlington Street Church, 9:45
Toast of the Nation live Broadcast WGBH  Berklee, 7: 30, 9:15
Andre Ward   Hynes, 7:45. 9:30
O'Doherty Emmanuel Church, 7:15
Harrison Gray Otis House      evening
Heinrich Christensen  King's Chapel, 8:45
Nadav Remez    BPL, 9:45, 10:45
Old South Brass   Old South, 6:15, 7:30
St. Paul's Cathedral interfaith service     11:15
Commonwealth Shakespeare and NEC: Shakespeare songs  St. Paul's Cathedral, 7:45, 9:00

Vienna Philharmonicm has usually two concerts on New Year: December 31, 7:30PM and next day 11:00 AM. WGBH broadcasts the event 11AM on January 1. Also, the WHRB broadcast during the December 31 evening the traditional Viennese music. This year it will be Lehár’s The Merry Widow and the absolutely mandatory for New Year Eve “Die Fledermaus”. Is it possible to listen the Johann Strauss operetta without obligatory Champaign and Panettone cake?
