Hi!
The cuts are from a bonus disc that came with EMIs "Centenary Edition - 100 Years of Great Music", a 10 CD set issued in 1997. Each CD was dedicated to a decade long span, beginning with 1897-1907.
I bought the set when it came out, and I must say that it has both great and less great sides to it. The early discs are of course
very
great performancewise, but the CDs dedicated to the second half of the century aren't
that
exciting. Also, the cuts are just too short, basically. Having no more than an excerpt of one movement of a symphony just ain't enough (just an example, not too many of those "bleeding chunks", thankfully), apart from maybe wetting one's appetite. I guess this is what you inevitably end up with when trying to cram a whole century of recording onto 10 CDs.
The box-set is apparently out of print (according to Amazon.com) (see
here
).
Regards,
Anders Boman
