The Free Intent Journals are become common and I think it is great. When they reach point of IT inelegance that they make their content available via RSS feeds then I put together simple code together with some kind of service that would mix all of them together and make all of them available from one page.

For now, people publish their Intent Journals, with different degree of professionalism and different degree of Moronity, still any diversify is a good diversity.  It is a little upsetting the many of the Intent Journals try to imitate the stylistic and the stupid bitten paths of many famous printed journals but if it is what they do than it is what they do.

I do not know who is behind it and I did not read yet the journal but the pictures glossy and the advertisements are screamy. I need to give a try to read form here an article or two.  Generally this “Tone Publications”, since it is a new publication should be not as horrible as it will be next year.  I remember when Six Moons first time pop up Srajan Ebaen was trying to convince his readers that he is “serious” but within a few months the content of his site degraded to the currently blossoming still-life pornography. Nowadays he reached of the “point of nothingness” when he openly admits that he does not give a damn about musical core of Audio and when he in his articles-reviews mentioned some “prestigious” classical musical performances then he did it only to get more credibility. Ironically it was exactly what I told about him a few years back, without even knowing him but juts reading this expressed thinking about audio elements.

Anyhow, here is what I would like to do: if you have any Free Intent Journal that you think worth to share then dump a link into this thread, particularly if the journal is new. Perhaps sometimes we will see something interesting in the Intent Journals…

Richard Hardesty’s Audio Perfectionist Journal was something that was promising: it had no advertising or agenda and was solely based on the view one individual person. Agree or degree I with Richard’s view but it was his view and I do love high-attitude positions, particularly when people have reasons to hold the positions.

Most of the audio writers are drive by shooters – they are brave when they stick a barrel of their short gun form barely opened window and when somebody can rush them far and fast. To stay on the ground and to demonstrate any, even tiny, integrity is way beyond the abilities of the contemporary audio-writing idiots. Sometimes though the are forced to do so and then… well you need to see how they do it and you will not have any further questions. Richard actually (is) was very nice from this perspective, he sounds convinced and had something to hold within his conviction.

Richard sell his Journal distributed for money. I do not know conditions. I never subscribed and I  do not know if it is good. However, regardless of what it is the Audio Perfectionist’s journal is is independent and “might” be worth attention.

If somebody do subscribe it and do find it interesting then let me know…

Another free audio web publication: The Audio Critic. I think they use to be printed publication but nowadays they switch to web. The Audio Critic never were interesting and always were concentrated on promoting poorly performing audio. I am not sure why we need ANY reviewing and why we need publicity around bad performing audio but it is "free" and it calls itselves a “publication”… so they are valid entry to this list.

I never considered that Bas is somber (how serious could be taken a person who loves the 6C41C sound! :-) but he has some other people writing for his publication. So, it might be interesting for some folks…

I do feel that they are all worthless but when you are having lunch at your deck  and would like to read something light and not serious then you have few options. I usually read Microsoft technology preview pages or the TheOnion.com. Alternatively those PDF files of today’s free online audio publications could be fun but they do not publish good pictures.
