Got a link today to an interview with a guy who has the G3 Trio.

Again, a completely lucid person being interviewed by some kind of wona be an audio journalist zombie. Another moron who is suffocating himself with his self-importance. Well, all of them in the same asylum.
 
I like the system owner, very relaxed and pleasurable guy. A few things I would like to point out. Pay attention to the positioning of his horns. I do not know the specifics of his room but the positioning of the Trio strikes me as very proper for the room. Also, this is the very first Trio that I have seen that has a very sensible color. When I see the people with bright red or white horns I lose even a desire to think about the installation. I do not know what he system has for bass but my compliments to the system owner for him he put the LF sections in the time-aligned position.
 
Lastly, is this “interviewer” so disturbed that he is not listening to what he records when the horns playing?

No surprise that the YouTube rendition is no great shakes, but from the interview and the demonstration both we learn something about the demands driving the installation, thanks to clarity from the owner. But what good does it do to comment on the sound I get from the demonstration when the owner might well dismiss or roundly qualify this rendition, as well? I hear "promise", but I've heard better from Avantgarde, and there is not much there I would settle for, personally. Based on my experience I think I could tweak better sound from that system, but if I wanted to change amps then what does that say about the proprietary system? Like Romy said, central to the idea of horns is equalizing the sound of the driver in the pass band, sans "horn sound". It takes so much time and expense to do this that "no one does it". I still think there's more to be gotten from the G3, and I still think it's "worth pursuing" for those who are looking to start with something they can buy and install. But, as ever, it takes more than money to get the best from an audio installation.
