Im building a passive mixer, so will need a few.
I'd appreciate a leg up. I'm not interested in splitting hairs on the 1% difference between the best pots out there. More looking for recommendations on what is good in the 80% realm. As in a decent pot but does not need to be perfect.
Thanks in advance.

That being said, many of us seem to move away from pots and go to either discrete resistor switches or discrete resistor matrix schemes.
As far as pots go, Alps seems to have the "good enough" market cornered.
If you look through the site, you will read that "good enough" really has nothing to do with advanced audio practices.

Thanks Rowuk,
I have used resistor switches before. In this case it's for a studio mixer so I want potentiometers.
I'll look at the Alps stuff, thanks.
I realise that question might not be received as "advanced audio practice" but it fulfils my objective. It is the objective that is leading to this question. That, I think that is consistent with the philosophy of this site.
I don't want to open a can of worms here, just looking for a good, reasonably priced potentiometer. I ask here because I don't read other audio sites.
Of the active mixers I have heard and tried (they generally sound really bad to me) they are definitely not good enough so I am making a passive mixer with tube make up gain. That's the objective.
I offer that now as some context but as you say, this is not a DIY site.
I will of course, buy a bunch and test them myself, was just hoping for some suggestions first. There are a lot of potentiometers out there and a lot of BS too.

Maybe Bourns for inexpensive pots? I think DAC (Danish Audio Connect) are more $$$.

Edgar, if you are recording, maybe you are looking for one of the Steve Hoffman boards? This site is more hi-fi, and DIY here is typically a last resort to tailor sound a certain way as opposed to being an activity or end in itself.

Best regards,
