The plate voltage on 6E5P is only +200V. Therefore from my point of view, a 220-240V transformer would be enough.

Ostblock, you need to load the 6E5P. There are many ways to do it and if you insist to use 220-240V transformer then there are ways to do so. However, the way how the driver is loaded in Milq is 15K resistor. This is not accident, we experimented with various loads. I have seen some people load 6E5P with 5K plate resistor and it is preposterous as in my experiments it did not sound right at all. We tried different loads and conclude that it is not good idea to drop lower then 12K, at list with resistive loading. So, the 15K we use is a save load to have. Now, if you have 15K load and let say 30mA plate current then you can easy figure out how much voltage will be eaten on the resistor. With 15K on place 400V supply will give to you 200V on anode and that is what is being done in Milq. In Milq in fact I use 440V supply as I have input choke filtration that burns extra 40V in indictors.
