There is new hope for the discriminated analog Audiophile:
The Importer wrote in a Forum about that Table that " it measures at a level no other turntable we did comparisons with can come close to... "And some readers rate it as a great unit even when they can read, that it was delivered with defect bearing. The manufacturer, all very highly educated engineers, sent the tables with mounted platter to the customers (Direct Drive unit)."We have compared the Wave Kinetics NVS directly with a number of turntables which have been widely recognized in the past as "the best" with HUGE price tags.
First, we devised a system for measuring vibrations and noise in each table and then did our comparisons followed by listening sessions. In each case our system easily out performed them in both criteria, measuring and listening."

It was spinning with defect bearing at RMAF and some very knowledgeable enthusiasts rated it as a superior Performance. The low frequency rumble gives a good PRaT.
I copy some lines, because I think, it is very helpful to show, what outstanding Design of today is able to deliver:
"I heard the bearing noise just once during my long stays in the room. I believe it was a Bill Henderson passage "Send in the Clowns" where the noise made itself present. It still sounded incredible! You should hear how the new Dusty Springfield "Dusty in Memphis" sounded. Holy smokes!"

Some units are now delivered and there is a enthusiastic owner and Audiophile, a Mr. Mike Lavigne, who states, this Turntable is a completely new chapter in analog reproduction. He uses with with 2 Arms made from wood and this beats everything he ever had before. His table seems to have survived the shipping without bearing defects. Very unusual, normally the vibrations and shocks from long time shipping (Truck, Cargo Plane) will damage any bearing. I think, they are the only ones in the whole world, who ship such a spec heavy unit completely build up. Even Seiki noted years ago never to move the tables with mounted platter...
Owner ML: This Arm Designer became a personal friend over all those years of development and to get this design right, he used hundreds of different Armtubes to get the one he is using now. But he can sell it only direct, because it is so awfully expensive, that the normal mark ups with dealers would be too much for the suffering Audiophile who is looking for the best.Great news.

Yep, another TT but what does it mean “Analog is Back” and “new hope for the discriminated analog Audiophile”? This language is a crap that industry and armature cheerleaders develop to pump themselves and others up. However, in my view this language has very little relevance to reality and in most of the cases is an indication of ether lightweightness, stupidity or fraud.

I did not see or heard the Wave Kinetics NVS and from what I saw there is very little that they described about own TT at their site. I like the perimeter mounting plate that is VERY convenient and I was thinking a few years back to do it on my TT. The speed switching panel got some prominence that I feel is not good – how frequently one need to switch it? It is possible that it is a fine TT, no one knows – it is possible that those guys did something fine sounding, why not?

The unpleasant thing is that the Wave Kinetics people look like slide third prototype TT into the slippery ass of Mike Lavigne. Mike is known cheerleader for big gold watches form Robb Report, quite brainless in my estimation and I have evidences of my assessment of him. It is not about the Mike Lavigne’s competence or incompetence. Mike is representative of the specific awareness that I fund absolutely idiotic and the forum where he posted all of it is the great depiction of that idiocy. Those people not even understand that by saying what they say about Wave Kinetics NVS they in fact provide unwillingly quite negative feedback about the NVS turntable.

Any tool in hands of barbarian produces a barbarian result. Lavigne was drooling saliva about his Rockfort, that was know piece of crap, and he used the same adjectives and declared a new era of analog. The retard never was able to state what was the sonic problem with his Rockfort TT and now the time of Wave Kinetics comes. Stitch , you need to understand that those people do not understand better or worth, they have no objectives or any rudimental integrity to own reference points. It is just 8 months past and they need to invent for themselves and new Messiah or a new subject of internet verbal defecation. Some men move from blond to brunette, some from BMW to Porsche, some from marihuana to LSD, some build trains in basement, some buy paragliders and move to Himalayas. Mike buys a new TT as he gets bored with old one. It is not sound, not a design idea, not anything that is important, it is just the time to move forward in his acquisition and cheerleading hobby.

Last night I spoke with a guy I know who invited a new truly unique phonostage devise that never ever exist before and have some interesting benefits.  He asked me how would be “properly” to distribute it. I told him that he needs to restrict the life-span of the devise by 7-8 months (despite that the devise is everlasting) and make the audio people to re-charge or to replace it in 7-8 months as it would perfectly correlates with mental menstruation of an average audio person. I absolutely assure you that the audio trash of Mike Lavigne caliber would be the very first who would write ode about it.

Saying, all of it I would like to note that I say nothing negative about this new TT itself, I just do not know and not particularly care.

Agree. I used these sentences because every new earth shattering Design is promoted similar. I was wondering about the fact, when this Turntable is so good as advertised, why does the manufacturer such a simple mistake and ships it as one unit...not very professional imo. They arrived with defect bearing, but probably that has to be, because some write, it is still superior sounding. Question is, who is 'some'...
I have no experience with Mr. Lavigne, but when he is the guy you wrote, maybe he can't hear the difference from a table with defect or intact bearing...or his lovely wooden Arms hide that 'information'...
We will see what is going on...in a few weeks weeks I will listen to such a Rockport table. Curious about it...

Well, it is hard to say. The turntable might be good or bad but the company behind it smell kind of peculiar. They sent t to Lavigne a prototype of their new TT for “evaluation” and they allow him to run his mouth about it.  The prototypes shall not be discussed publicly; this is the way how the games played. I have many prototypes that were sent to me by different manufactures and no one ever hear from me about is – this is the definition of on-field testing of a prototype. I wonder why a company ever sends prototypes out. Do they need an input from users and they do not know how it shall sound? Will they change this “revolutionary design” if some kind of idiot would inform them that his Lad zeppelin has not good bass with this TT? It does not “look” fishy, it is fishy. If you add to this the fact that that company appointed Jonathan Tinn as their rep then you very much understand what kind awareness stays behind the company. Jonathan Tinn is perfect to sell from one poket the pipe bombs to Arabic terrorists and from another hands the blood supplied to Israeli emergency rooms. Thankfully we all know how it will end up. In a couple years a new wave will come and it will be a legion of fucked by Jonathan Tinn customers out there with another lawsuit between Tinn and Wave Kinetics. The artistry of Jonathan Tinn and the people like him is their phonebook with the address of idiots-audiophiles who are vulnerable to buy into a new revolution BS. The actual sound of a product is absolutely irrelevant as it is not the subject. The time comes, a new product is loaded into the sales arbalet and the Tinn-like hunters behind heir hunting by matching the idiocy a customer with the specific misery of audio product.

... it is a pity. There was so much useful information about it at Audiogon thread (...the brightest professors / technical Staff at Stanford University worked on it, it did beat all other serious turntables in noise & everything possible ...) and also was announced that a Mk II Version is coming, even Mk I was never delivered to paying customers.

Also, there was a good discussion about foaming the shipping boxes to avoid another bearing damage which is part of delivery from Mk I.
And what other serious turntables it did beat in all possible technical datas ... the Importer graciously ignored these Questions from hungry-willing-to-spend-money Audiophiles... some argued it is a prototype marketing done....MSRP 45.000$, Shipped 5.000$ and now they will go the typical way
Too bad.
