Sometimes I am surprised that Positive Feedback does publish interesting articles and or course sometime not. It is in contrary to other online publications the never publish interesting articles.

This weekend I was pointed out to the Jeff Day’s review of Tannoy Westminster Royal Special Edition loudspeakers.

http://www.positive-feedback.com/Issue49/tannoy.htm

I do not like what Jeff wrote and how he handled the review but I think it is still in my view not end of the world read. Exactly the half of the “review” is an infomercial from Tannoy booklet, the infomercial that contains many mistakes and many corners rounded. The second part Jeff Day writes about his own experience about the new Westminster.

I did not hear the new Tannoy Westminster. I heard the older Westminster models and never felt any interests. Jeff looks like appreciate them even the own observations are filed with self-contradictions and in some cased inaccuracy.

Well, I think for the reader of my kind-of-horns biased site the read about the New Westminster might be worthy – Jeff is trying to write about horn-loaded loudspeakers for a while.  After all the Westminster has “two 11-foot long rear folded horns …. The rear horn starts acoustic coupling to the drive unit at 300Hz and provides low frequency response down to 18Hz (-6dB).”
