Ncdrawl,

You are a new person around here and you do not know that with those types of references it is very difficult to make me to eat my heart out.  The installation depicted at this auto-forum was discussed a few tears back and I was not impress then and I am not impress now.

I do not know what those auto-people posted in their replies (I can’t read those replies as I have no account in there) but my experience with audio people indicated that usually they are very stupid and dull comments. A moron posted pictures and specify the cost of some elements involved – what to eat heart out.   – becomes the person was not able to express anything more intelligent?

The installation itself is controversial in my view, even in context of my new interest of midbass horns and real-estate I see what those guys in Arizona did was not what I like and I would do the things differently. You said that “they they probably sound horrible”, might I as why?

might I ask why

1.)the bass will be pretty coloured...mouth not large enough for proper bass response..

2) numerous horns--imaging all over the place!

3) All those tubes in the mouth of the horn??? disaster..microphony!

4) those horns need a lot of power. valves do not do this so well, at least not without compromises in fidelity...so very, very colored..

5) time alignment.. obviously not been given any consideration

that aside, it looks practically thrown together!

Yes,

even I disagree with some of your rationales but I would agree that the installation above is “not interesting”, it does look like it was practically thrown senselessly together and overall it is something that I typically call “not simulative installation”.  I do not know how “horrible” it sound but for sure the playback with this level of “thoughts investment” would NOR be something that I might consider was pursuing any serious demands. As I said before, it feels like the things were just piled up together to let the simpletons from 6Moons to make pictures and to write their typical stupidities…
