DONALD BERMAN IN "STUNNING" RECORDING OF CHARLES IVES' CONCORD SONATA
American pianist Donald Berman, new music champion whose playing has for decades been recognized for its subtlety, power, and emotional depth, is featured in a new recording of Charles Ives’ Piano Sonata No. 2 “Concord, Mass., 1840-1860″ released today by AVIE (AV2678). Preceding the Concord Sonata on the new Avie release is The St.Gaudens (“Black March”). This recording is the realization of many years’ editorial scrutiny and scholarship by Mr. Berman, who is also president and treasurer of the Charles Ives Society.
